🏡 The Apartment 🏡

The apartment (116 sqm) is situated in a charming, well-maintained historic building (a protected heritage site) on the 3rd floor, accessible by elevator. Featuring high ceilings and large windows, the spacious apartment includes 4 bedrooms, a generous living room, a large, state-of-the-art kitchen (with a kitchen island), a bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub, a separate laundry room, and a separate toilet. The apartment is furnished in a cozy, thoughtful style. The price includes a cleaning service. This is a non-smoking apartment (smoking is permitted outdoors only).

Highly central; the "Grand Rex" bus and tram stop (served by Tram 1 and buses C6, C7, 16, and 02) is right at your doorstep. Mulhouse train station is a 10-minute journey away, and Porte Jeanne is 5 minutes away. A Carrefour City supermarket, pharmacies, cafés, the town hall (Mairie), and various shops for daily needs are all within a 5-minute walk.

🛏️ Rooms 🛏️
There are currently TWO rooms available for rent.
🛏️ 1. The smaller room has been freshly renovated and is bright, featuring a large window and high ceilings. It measures 11 square meters and faces the inner courtyard. The room is lockable for privacy and comes furnished with brand-new items: a wooden shelving unit with integrated lighting, a French-style double bed, two bedside tables, a lamp, and an open-style wardrobe. A desk and chair will be added, effective November 1, 2026.
🛏️ 2. The larger room in the shared apartment will be renovated and refurnished in November. It will be available starting December 1st and can be viewed now. The room is bright, features a large window and high ceilings, and measures 19.5 square meters. It faces Avenue de Colmar, is lockable, and is currently unfurnished. You are welcome to bring your own bed and other furniture if you wish.

The designer kitchen is ultra-modern and equipped with a kitchen island, a glass-ceramic cooktop, an oven, a huge refrigerator, a dishwasher, a toaster, and plenty of spacious cabinets.
The generous, designer-style bathroom includes a shower stall and a large bathtub.
There is also a separate toilet with a sink.
The spacious living area is currently used as both a lounge and a dining room.
The apartment does not have a balcony or a garden; however, it includes a separate, fully equipped laundry room with modern, high-quality washing and drying machines.

I am a 44-year-young man, permanently residing and working in Basel, Switzerland. I am also an author and a doctoral candidate at the University of Basel. I am looking for two tenants—one for each available room—starting November 1st / December 1st. This is intended to be a purely functional shared living arrangement. I am rather introverted, creative and arty, reserved, and very busy; I tend to be focused on my work and am often away.

📃The Rental Agreement📁
Individual rental agreements are drawn up for each room; a collective security deposit is not required. The sublease agreement is initially for a term of one year and may be extended if necessary. Each tenant may move out at any time, provided they give two months' notice; this will not affect the other housemates.
A security deposit of €750 is required. This will be refunded upon move-out, provided that the room and its furnishings are left in a clean and pristine condition. The security deposit must be paid at the time of booking, and the rent for the first month must be paid before the keys are handed over.
