The Place de la Bourse campus is right in the heart of Bordeaux, along the Quais. An ideal setting for student life. Here are the neighbourhoods we recommend to stay close to your campus:
- Saint-Pierre / Saint-Michel: just a few minutes' walk from campus, with a lively atmosphere, an authentic local vibe and rents that are still affordable for the city centre. Tram line C runs right nearby.
- Les Chartrons: a trendy area popular with students, stretching north along the Quais. Cafés, markets, flea markets: there's always something going on. Less than 10 minutes away on foot or by tram.
- La Victoire / Sainte-Croix: the ultimate student area, well served by tram lines B and C. Rents are lower than in Les Chartrons, with everything you need to enjoy life between classes.
- Mériadeck: a quiet, residential area about a 10-minute walk from campus. Rents are around the Bordeaux average, ideal if you want to be close without the noise of the city centre.
The Campus du Lac Libourne campus is about 30 kilometres from Bordeaux. It's further from the lively Bordeaux city centre, but Libourne is a friendly, human-sized town with a much more affordable rental market.
To make your search easier, here are the areas we recommend:
- In Libourne:
- The most obvious choice is the town centre. The campus is just around the corner, all the shops are within walking distance and rents are among the lowest in the region. Ideal if you want to save on both budget and commuting time.
- The station area is well connected by train, with direct TER services to Bordeaux in about 35 minutes. Handy for work-study students juggling a company in Bordeaux and classes in Libourne.
- In Bordeaux:
- Gare Saint-Jean / Belcier: an up-and-coming area with direct TER trains to Libourne in about 35 minutes. Rents are around the Bordeaux average and more affordable than in the city centre.
- Bègles: just south of Bordeaux, served by tram line C and well connected to Gare Saint-Jean. Rents are among the most affordable in the Bordeaux area, with a small-town feel.
